  • Something to Think About

As I look at the things that have been happening in the world of late I can't help thinking about what Jesus said before He left this earth to go back toHis Father in heaven.  He was talking about the signs that would show us that His second coming to this earth was near, even at the door.

Over the past few weeks we have witnessed two earthquakes in China and a devastating cyclone in Burma. Millions of people have been killed and homes and livlihoods have been destroyed.  True many miracles have taken place as well, where people who had been buried for days have been found alive and we thank God for those. The world has also seen tsunamis, terrible floods, devastating accidents in many parts of the world. These are all signs that Jesus will be back very soon.

Israel is a key country to watch. There have been so many efforts to try and bring peace to the Middle East, all have failed. Only Jesus will be able to do that. As time goes on the focus of the world will be more and more in that area.

Is it time for Christians and non-Christians alike to stop and look at what they are doing with their lives? Are we living for the Lord? Are our lives bringing glory to Him, or are we living for ourselves, doing what pleases us?

Are we living in the centre of His purposes for us or not?  These are important questions that we need to ask ourselves, as time is very short. There is not enough time left for us to just do our own thing.  God has a reason and a purpose for every person on this earth and I believe it is important that we find it. Do we know where we stand in the sight of God and how He will see us when we stand before His Judgement Throne?

These are just a few thoughts to think about.

What Will You Do With Jesus Who is Called 'The Christ.'

    Hey World!

    Halt! Stop! and Listen!,

    Open your ears and hear!,

    The cry goes forth!

    The question is asked.......

What will you do with Jesus, who is called 'The Christ'?

    He stands at the door,

    Between time and eternity,

    How will you respond?

    Which road will you take?

    You stand at the crossroads,

    Be'twixt Life and Death,

What will you do, with Jesus, who is called 'The Christ'?

    Time draws to an end,

    Eternity begins,

Where will you stand when time ends and Eternity begins,

What will you do, with Jesus, who is called 'The Christ'?

His call has gone out, His voice has been heard,

    Time to stop and think,

What will you do with Jesus, who is called 'The Christ'?

Down through the corridors of time,

Echoes the call, one more time,

What will you do, wth Jesus, who is called 'The Christ'?

    The echo slowly dies,

    The door finally closes,

    Time ends,

    Eternity begins,

What did you do with Jesus, who is called

    'The Christ'?

    Taken from Matt.27:22.

I too have been looking at the news: earthquakes, famines, resource concerns (like fuel, etc)... I feel God has really been laying things on my heart about how short life is! In much of my quiet-time lately I have been challenged about living lives that reflect what God has done and thanking Him by living a God-honouring life... and remembering that God wants us to let others know and let others see His good news.

Just this week my Husband's Grandfather passed away and it was a reminder not only of God's grace through the difficult times... all six children and most of the grandchildren were able to make it to the hospital to say goodbye and be with him in his last moments on earth; but was also a reminder to keep looking to God and living each day we have for Him.

Hey mum are you still going to write things in this blog or are you going to stay with the Christian site instead.

  • dorothy60

@Glehnmarc - Yes, I am still going to blog on this site, but haven't for a while I know.  I have blogged on Seedsower's site and dazihazi's recently.  I put a poem on my Christian site not long ago, but haven't done anything else on there for a while either.  I have also replied to other blogs. I will probably do some more tomorrow in the morning as I have to look after Joseph and Braden in the afternoon from 3pm as Cara is taking the other two to swimming. Brett will pick them on his way home.

To change the subject, have you moved to the other house yet? and do you have another job as yet?

    Will hear from you soon.

    Love Mum xoxox

@dorothy60 - The job is working out again it was only quiet for a couple of weeks. Yes I have moved the rent here is far better. Only 125.00 (includes all food and net access) instead of 170.00 (excluding food and net access).

Good news! I've have now gone from 85 KG down to 82 KG. So I'm slowly losing. Walking from where I live to town is really helping. Haven't been able to walk last couple of days as it is so wet with the storm hovering around. Over last two days I've stepped 31,582 times.

@Glehnmarc - Glenn, do you know where your microscope is?

Do you have it over with you?

Glad the job is working out ok. By the way how come I can't get you on the phone?

You are doing well with your weight.

Hope to hear from you soon.
